Purchase agreement

Everything in writing

The agreement is published here, complete, before anyone is asked for money. Read it now rather than at the moment you are being asked to sign it.

Read it before you commit

This is the agreement you will be asked to sign, published here in full so you can read it in your own time rather than under pressure. If any clause does not sit right with you, say so — that is a conversation, not a lost sale.

Sixteen clauses, no small print

Published complete, before anyone is asked for money. Every incorporated policy is linked from the clause that incorporates it.
Policy 00 Last updated: August 2026 Applies to MiniSchnauzerpups.com

A purchase agreement between MiniSchnauzerpups and the buyer, for one identified Miniature Schnauzer puppy.

01Fees and payment

The buyer agrees to pay the total purchase price shown in this agreement — the puppy price plus any delivery or reservation fee selected above — before the puppy is released or travel is booked. The puppy price is $600. No fee exists that is not shown on this page.

02Reservation and balance

A reservation of $300 holds one identified puppy and is credited against the total rather than added to it. Before travel is booked, or at handoff for in-person pickup. Payment instructions are issued privately after this agreement is signed and are never published on the website.

03Health at handoff

The seller warrants that at handoff the puppy is free of clinically apparent contagious illness, free of any life-threatening congenital defect known to the seller or reasonably detectable on examination, and free of clinically significant parasite burden.

04Independent veterinary examination

The buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of the buyer's own choosing, at the buyer's own cost, within 72 hours of collection or delivery, and to notify the seller immediately of any finding that may fall within the health guarantee, providing the veterinarian's written report.

05Records and paperwork

The puppy travels with the veterinary, vaccination and deworming records held for it, a written feeding sheet and a comfort item from the litter. Registration paperwork, where applicable, is dealt with separately and is not claimed by this agreement unless stated in writing.

06Safety and supervision

The buyer agrees that the puppy will be supervised outdoors, including in a fenced yard, and never left unattended near water, roadways or in extreme weather. The dog will live indoors as part of the household and will not be kept permanently outdoors, kennelled or chained.

07Ongoing care

The buyer agrees to provide appropriate nutrition, clean water, shelter, routine veterinary care, coat maintenance and genuine companionship for the life of the dog. This breed requires professional grooming every six to eight weeks and has recognised dietary sensitivities.

08Temperament disclosure

The seller describes each puppy honestly as observed before sale and does not represent adult temperament, adult size or adult coat. The seller is not liable for behaviour that develops after the puppy leaves the seller's care.

09Settling-in period

If the placement is genuinely not working within 30 days of handoff, the seller offers a full refund on return of the puppy in the general condition in which it left, on the terms set out in the refund policy.

10Return before rehoming

If at any point in the dog's life the buyer can no longer keep it, the seller must be contacted first. The dog may not be sold, given away, advertised, surrendered to a shelter or transferred to a rescue without the seller's prior knowledge. This obligation has no expiry.

11Prohibited placements and uses

The puppy may never be sold, traded or surrendered to a pet shop, dealer, broker, auction, laboratory or similar organisation, and may not be used in fighting or baiting. Any future transfer of ownership requires the seller's prior written approval.

12Breeding

The puppy is sold as a companion animal. The buyer agrees not to breed from the dog without the seller's prior written agreement.

13Transfer of ownership

Ownership passes to the buyer on handoff and on receipt of the full purchase price, whichever is later. Until then the puppy remains the property of the seller.

14Cancellation

If the seller cannot supply the reserved puppy for any reason, the buyer chooses between a full return of everything paid, transfer to another available puppy, or holding the reservation against a future litter. The choice belongs to the buyer.

15Data and publicity

Personal information provided here is handled under the privacy policy. Photographs and written stories are published only with the buyer's explicit written permission, which may be withdrawn at any time.

16Governing law and entire agreement

This agreement is governed by the law of Kentucky. Together with the policies it incorporates, it is the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes any prior discussion. No amendment is effective unless made in writing and signed by both parties. Nothing here limits the buyer's rights under applicable consumer protection law.

Read it, then sign it

A question about a clause is not an obstacle to a sale. It is the reason the document is published in the first place.
