Policy 09
Pickup Policy
Collecting your puppy in person at no extra cost: appointments, identification, paperwork and what to bring.
Collection in person at the seller's address is free — you pay the $600 puppy price and nothing more. Appointments are made in advance and photo identification is required.
01What this option is
The buyer travels to the seller's address by appointment, meets the puppy, completes the paperwork in person and takes the puppy home the same day.
For buyers within driving distance it is the option that involves the least travel stress for the puppy, and it is the only one where the buyer sees the environment the litter was raised in.
02There is no fee
Collecting in person costs nothing beyond the puppy price of $600. No appointment charge, no handling charge, no paperwork charge.
It is therefore the cheapest of the three options, and the only one where you see the environment the litter was raised in before you commit. If that matters to you — and it should — this is the option to choose.
03Location and appointments
Pickup is by appointment only. The exact address is provided once an appointment is confirmed rather than published on this website.
Appointments are scheduled to suit the puppy's routine — not during a rest period, and with enough time that nothing has to be rushed. Allow at least forty-five minutes.
Appointments are available Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm CT. Allow at least forty-five minutes.
04What to bring
- Photo identification matching the name on the agreement.
- A secure crate or harness for the car journey home.
- Water, a bowl and a towel.
- Your copy of the agreement, if you have printed it.
- The balance, if it is due at collection rather than in advance.
05At the appointment
- Identification is checked.
- You spend time with the puppy before anything is signed.
- The agreement and health guarantee are signed and countersigned; you take a complete copy.
- Records, feeding sheet, food and comfort item are handed over and explained.
- Questions — as many as you have. This is the best opportunity you will get.
06Visits before collection
Whether visits are available before a purchase is agreed is a separate question from collection, and the seller must state the policy.
Visits before a purchase is agreed are welcome, by appointment, for local and regional families. You will meet both parents while you are here.
Where an in-person visit is not possible, a live video call showing the puppy and the environment it lives in is a reasonable substitute and a reasonable thing to ask for.
07Health and hygiene at the property
Visitors are asked not to attend if they have been in contact with unwell dogs in the previous forty-eight hours, and to wash hands on arrival. This is ordinary biosecurity around a litter, not an inconvenience.
08After collection
Drive straight home if you can. Keep the first evening quiet, and attend the veterinary examination within 72 hours of collection.
Questions about this policy?
A question about a clause is exactly why the clause is published. Ask before you commit, not afterwards.
