Reservation Policy

How the $300 reservation works: what it holds, how it is credited, how long it lasts, and when it is or is not returnable.

Policy 02 Last updated: August 2026 Applies to MiniSchnauzerpups.com

A reservation of $300 holds one identified puppy for one buyer. It is credited against the total purchase price rather than charged in addition to it.

01What a reservation does

A reservation removes one named puppy from availability and holds it for the buyer named in the signed agreement. From the moment a reservation is received, the seller will not accept an enquiry, application or payment from any other buyer in respect of that puppy.

A reservation is not a deposit against a future litter, a subscription, or a general credit with the seller. It attaches to one animal, identified by name and internal identifier in the agreement.

02Amount and credit

The reservation amount is $300.

It is credited against the total purchase price. It is not an additional charge. Worked example, using airport delivery:

Puppy$600
Airport delivery$200
Total purchase price$800
Reservation received− $300
Remaining balance$500

The same three figures — total, reservation, remaining balance — appear on the buyer's written summary and in the signed agreement, and they must agree with each other. If they do not, do not sign.

03Sequence: agreement first

A reservation is only ever accepted after the purchase agreement has been signed by both parties. The seller will not request or accept money from a buyer who has not been given the complete document set and had the opportunity to read it.

Payment instructions are issued privately at that point. They are never published on this website. A buyer who receives payment details before signing, or through an unexpected channel, should stop and verify with us directly before sending anything.

04How long a reservation lasts

A reservation holds the puppy until the agreed handoff date. Where the buyer needs additional time, the extension must be agreed in writing and recorded as an amendment to the agreement.

Where a buyer becomes unreachable for a prolonged period and the balance falls due, the seller must give written notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond before treating the reservation as abandoned. The notice period and its consequences must be stated in the signed agreement.

Where a buyer becomes unreachable and the balance falls due, we give fourteen days’ written notice before the reservation is treated as abandoned and the puppy returned to availability.

05When a reservation is returnable

The circumstances in which a reservation is returned are set out in the refund policy and the cancellation policy. In summary:

  1. Seller cannot supply the puppy — for medical, welfare or any other reason attributable to the seller: the buyer chooses between a full return of everything paid, or transfer to another available puppy.
  2. Buyer withdraws — the position depends on the stage and the reason, and is governed by the cancellation policy.
  3. Independent veterinary examination identifies a covered condition — governed by the health guarantee.
If you simply change your mind

A reservation is non-refundable where the buyer withdraws after a specific puppy has been matched and held on their behalf — that puppy has been off the market in the meantime. We would always rather talk first and find a fair solution, including transferring the reservation to another puppy or a future litter, so get in touch before you assume anything.

06Payment methods

The configured methods are: Zelle, Chime, Apple Pay — Cash Balance, Varo, Bank wire transfer, Interac e-Transfer. Which of these are operational at any time is confirmed with the buyer before the instruction is issued.

No method is described as secure, protected or guaranteed. Several are irreversible once sent, which is precisely why the agreement is signed first and why the destination should be verified independently.

07Records

The seller issues written confirmation on receipt of a reservation, stating the date received, the amount, the puppy's name and identifier, the total purchase price, the remaining balance and the agreed handoff arrangements. The buyer should retain this alongside the countersigned agreement.
