Policy 06
Shipping Policy
General transport terms covering all delivery methods: fees, scheduling, risk, welfare and what happens when travel cannot proceed.
General transport terms applying to all three delivery methods. Method-specific detail is in the airport, home delivery and pickup policies.
01Options and fees
| Method | What it is | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Airport delivery | Flight nanny, in cabin, to the buyer's nearest supported major airport. | $200 |
| Home delivery | Ground transport in a climate-controlled vehicle to the buyer's address. | $250 |
| Pickup at seller's address | Buyer collects in person by appointment. | No fee |
The fee is fixed at the point of agreement and is added to the puppy price to produce the total purchase price. It does not change afterwards unless the buyer requests a change of method, which must be agreed in writing.
02Availability is confirmed, not assumed
Every option is subject to availability on the intended date. Supported airports, the home-delivery service radius and the pickup location are all matters the seller must confirm in writing before a method is agreed.
Airport delivery reaches every major US airport, ground delivery covers all 50 states, and collection in person is by appointment six days a week. Availability on a specific date is confirmed in writing before anything is booked.
03What travels with the puppy
Whichever method is used, the puppy travels with its current food and feeding sheet, its veterinary and vaccination records, a comfort item carrying the scent of the litter, and the countersigned documents.
04Scheduling and confirmation
Travel is scheduled after the balance has been settled. The seller confirms date, timing, meeting point and contact arrangements in writing 24–48 hours in advance.
The buyer must provide accurate contact details and be reachable on the day. A named adult must be present at the handoff point.
05Welfare and weather
Travel does not proceed where conditions are unsafe. That includes temperature restrictions, airline embargoes, severe weather, and any indication that the puppy is unwell on the day.
Where travel is postponed for welfare or safety reasons, it is rescheduled at the earliest safe opportunity. No additional fee is charged for a postponement made on those grounds, and neither party may treat it as a cancellation.
06Delay, and who bears risk
Flights are delayed and roads close. The seller will keep the buyer informed and will not leave a puppy unattended in transit.
The point at which risk in the puppy passes from seller to buyer — on handoff, or on despatch — must be stated explicitly in the signed agreement, because it determines who bears the loss in the rare case that something goes wrong in transit.
Risk passes to the buyer at handoff — not at despatch. Until the puppy is physically placed in the buyer’s hands, it remains our responsibility, whichever transport method has been chosen.
07Third-party carriers
Where a flight nanny, ground transporter or airline is engaged, the seller remains the buyer's point of contact and is responsible for arranging the service. The identity of any regular transport partner should be disclosed to the buyer on request.
08International movement
Configured transport is domestic. Moving a puppy across an international border involves export documentation, rabies vaccination timing rules, microchip standards and destination-country import requirements that vary by country and change frequently.
No international movement is offered or implied on this website. A buyer outside the domestic service area should raise it before applying, not after.
